Snapped: Swindon Flies the Flag for Armed Forces Day 2013
On Saturday 29th June, Swindon came together to celebrate the work and commitment of our Armed Forces. The annual event held at Wharf Green raised public awareness of the contribution made to our country by those who serve and have served in Her Majesty's Armed Forces. The celebrations officially began when Deputy Lieutenant, Mr. David Brewer, DL, the Swindon Mayor, Cllr Nick Martin, and the Swindon Sea Cadets took part in the 'Fly the Flag' Ceremony. Following the raising of the flag a series of fun, free, family activities were available throughout the town centre including jousting, a bunjee run, Sumo Suites, a climbing wall Gyro Scope, Surf simulator, fair ground rides and a Wimbledon showcase with free lessons from Delta Tennis.
