How will you emerge from lockdown?
Ok hand’s up if lockdown has begun to take its toll on your waistline? We started off with fabulous weather, the smell of bar-be-ques filling the air, drinking in the sunshine, daytime, anytime!!! We reached for treats and it was feeling a bit like a holiday for many of us.
We then had to get to grips with home working and schooling our kids, which led to more wine!!!
Our routines went out the window and we found ourselves out of control, as lockdown progressed, the early intentions of daily exercise slipped, our great plans of finishing all the jobs and spring cleaning faded into dust and the couch became a comfy retreat. The path to the fridge became very well trodden and picking and snacking the new normal!
It’s widely reported that obesity is the second most common underlying factor associated with covid19 and with a population where almost two thirds of us are overweight or obese…
The Health Survey for England 2017 estimates that 28.7% of adults in England are obese and a further 35.6% are overweight but not obese…it’s another reason to take stock and look after ourselves, just as the planet has started to restore, we too can press that reset.
The great news is it's not too late, lockdown is likely to be around for some time, so now is a great time to take back that control, lose those lockdown lumps and bumps, banish the bad habits and boost your energy. So, by the time we come out of all this, if you act now, I can help you to emerge refreshed, looking great and feeling fabulous about yourself with a newfound optimism.
