Fundraising is just the ticket at Swindon serviced offices

Swindon’s Rombourne serviced offices threw open its doors to help raise funds for one of its clients with a coffee and mince pie morning.

Visitors to Rombourne, based at Lydiard Fields, West Swindon, were invited to buy raffle tickets and get into the Christmas spirit to help raise funds for The Jessie May Trust, which has an office at the centre.

Altogether, the event raised £75 for the charity, which provides nursing care at home for children and young people with life limiting conditions, who are not expected to live beyond the age of 19. The money will go towards respite services. Currently, The Jessie May Trust is supporting 37 families in Swindon and Wiltshire.

Debbie Clark, corporate and community fundraiser for The Jessie May Trust in Wiltshire, said she was very grateful for the support shown by Rombourne.

“They are always helping us with fundraising,” said Debbie. “Our Jessie May nurses spend 85-90 percent of their time out with families, but when they do need to have some quiet time to write up notes and so on, our office in Rombourne is the perfect place. It is also a great place for a parent to come and talk to the nurses, if they want somewhere away from the family home.”

Danielle Mottram, Centre Manager at Rombourne in Swindon, said: “We like to proactively support our clients here. The Jessie May Trust does such valuable work in Swindon and Wiltshire that we want to do all we can to help.”

The mince pie and coffee morning was also attended by Swindon Mayor, Kevin Parry. He said: “There are so many unsung heroes and charities out there who do so much to help, it is really important to support them. The Jessie May Trust does an excellent job of helping children and their families, in Swindon and Wiltshire.”
