David Lloyd Swindon re-opens with safety measures in place

Since the coronavirus outbreak began back in March, David Lloyd were sadly forced to close their doors to help stop the spread of the virus. Three months on, they have now re-opened with some important news!

David Lloyd would like to make it very clear that their customers' safety is their highest priority and they are implementing as many procedures as possible to ensure social distancing measures are respected and their customers can enjoy their classes safely. To coincide with the government guidelines, currently only the outdoor facilities are available to use.

A lot has happened in the past week, so here's the exciting news they'd like to share...

  • Children aged 5 to 14 are free in June for members with children that have restarted their membership. David Lloyd have launched a new kids’ timetable from Monday, 15 June with free one-hour classes every day for 5-7 and 8-11 years old. A great way to keep them entertained and active, while schools remain closed for many age groups. Toilet facilities are also now available.
  • Following member feedback, guest passes are now being accepted, so why not bring a friend with you next time you visit the Club. As always, their priority is to their members, so they will monitor and pause guest passes, should members' experience be negatively impacted.
  • As a reminder all guest passes that expired whilst the Club has been closed, or are due to expire in the next few months will be extended to 31 Dec 2020. Visit the mobile app to access your passes.

How David Lloyd are keeping customers safe:

  • Creating workout areas of 3m x 3m to give members space to safely enjoy a workout.
  • Limiting bookings for group exercise classes to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Classes will have a maximum of five members plus the instructor.
  • Reducing the number of members in certain areas of the club at any one time to minimise congestion and ensure members and team members can practice social distancing.
  • Introduced plastic screens to reception desks to protect both members and their team members.
  • Asking members and team members to remain 2 metres apart in line with current social distancing guidelines.
  • Using signage, including clear floor markings to help members to remain 2m apartt
