David Lloyd Swindon Backing Ben Fun Day Raises £2000
David Lloyd Swindon hosted, with help from Members, a day of fundraising activity to support and raise money for Ben Couchman who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia earlier this year.
Sam Couchman is a much valued member of staff at David Llloyd and everyone there were desperate to help Sam and her family after her son's diagnoses of Leukaemia earlier this year.
After getting their heads together, they decided to put on a day of fun activties to help raise money to help the family get through this very tough time. On 30th September, David Lloyd Swindon opened it's doors to non members and provided a full day of fun family activities to help fundraise for Macmillan, CLIC Sargent and Ben's family.
It was an extremely successful weekend starting with a cake sale for Macmillan which raised £163.73.
On the family fun day itself, There were more cakes, children’s activities, fancy dress exercise classes, a tennis rally competition and a sponsored swim. Swimmers of all ages and abilties took to the clubs indoor pool and swam 1208 Lengths/24,160 metres (the equivilent of 1016 full sized tennis courts!
With sponsorship still to come in, they are still on track to raise over £2000!
