Best Places to Visit in the UK

Travelling abroad has been much harder, or sometimes just not possible, during the last couple of years due to the coronavirus pandemic, but this doesn’t mean you can’t explore any new locations or experience any beautiful scenery. There are plenty of things to do and places to see right here in the UK, so if you’re looking for inspiration for your next holiday within the UK, then here are some of the best places to visit.

London:

If you prefer city breaks, then a trip to London would be perfect for you. As the UK’s largest city by far, London has so many things to offer. You can go shopping, see shows, eat at a variety of restaurants, and go out to a club or casino at night. There are also plenty of sightseeing opportunities, such as Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, and Big Ben. If you’re taking plenty of photos of these iconic landmarks, then you can pick your favourites and get them printed on canvas using hellocanvas.

Bath:

If you’re interested in history, particularly Roman history, then Bath would be a great holiday destination for you. As its name suggests, Bath is famous for its Roman Baths, so if you’d like to see Roman architecture, this is the place to go. There are also many other locations around the UK that boast Roman structures, including Chester and Hadrian’s Wall.

Loch Ness:

Famous for its supposed monster, Loch Ness is an incredibly popular tourist destination in Scotland, surrounded by picturesque scenery and ruins. Although you’re unlikely to spot any monsters, Loch Ness still has much to offer due to its spectacular location and the ruins of Urquhart Castle, a medieval castle overlooking the water.

The Giant’s Causeway:

Situated in Northern Ireland, the Giant’s Causeway is an impressive natural stone feature. The iconic look of this destination makes it a perfect place to visit and take photos of. There’s also a visitor centre nearby that can tell you more about how this amazing structure was formed.

Stonehenge:

This is another destination for history lovers. Stonehenge, located near Salisbury, is one of the most iconic and easily recognisable landmarks in the UK, and it’s definitely worth seeing it in person. Historians believe that Stonehenge was built as a place of worship 4,500 years ago, and many people still flock to it today during the summer and winter solstice.

Listed above, you can find some of the best places to visit in the UK, but there are also many other destinations you could choose from. If you love city breaks, you could also visit Edinburgh, Cardiff, and Belfast, and there are many picturesque places you can visit in the countryside such as the Lake District and Snowdonia. You could even plan a little road trip and consider seeing more than one!

Overall, even though you may long to travel abroad again, there are still so many amazing memories you can make while holidaying in the UK.
