Snapped: UTC Swindon Demolition Work Begins

On Tuesday 5th November, Angela Barker-Dench, Principal of UTC Swindon, pressed the button of the Brokk 180 demolition robot, as BAM Construction start the next phase of the build of the new University Technical College. UTC Swindon will be a brand new £10m state-of-the-art facility. The only buildings to survive the demolition will be the Old School Building and the iconic Water Tower. Both are Grade II listed structures and will be treated sympathetically, with the Water Tower being restored and brought back into educational use. Sponsors and partners of the University Technical College were in attendance including UTC Swindon directors from Oxford Brookes University and Johnson Matthey Fuel Cells.
