You’re Earning Whilst Learning

One of the most obvious benefits of being an apprentice is the fact that you’re earning whilst being trained on the job. It’s a great feeling when the hard work you put into the job is rewarded with a wage at the end of the month. Whether it be small or over the minimum apprentice wage, it’s a great incentive. This also quickly teaches you to understand the value of money and gain some more independence as you may budget and save.

University can be an extremely costly choice, not only are the fees of your chosen course at least £9,000 a year, there is also the living costs which usually require more loans being taken out. An apprentice on the other hand will not have the worry of facing this debt after 3 more years of studying, instead they will have gained experience as well as a qualification.

Throughout the apprenticeship there is always guidance and support from the staff of the establishment you work for, as well as your apprenticeship mentor who will always be on hand to give advice.  If you are struggling, you are never alone as there will always be help on hand.

You will learn invaluable skills whilst learning what it’s like to be in the working world. You will build your confidence and learn new skills, whilst getting used to juggling your apprenticeship study with the job. Your time at your establishment does not have to end once the apprenticeship does either, you may be offered a permeant job or even the chance to complete another apprenticeship at a higher level.
