Get a snap in Santa's Sleigh At Ridgeway Rise Care Home
We all know that this year’s Christmas will be like no other as COVID-19 continues to bring pain and misery. With all the restrictions in place to stop the spread of the virus, Christmas events have been cancelled and there is little festive joy to get involved with around the town. However the team at Ridgeway Rise Care Home in Blunsdon are looking to change that.
Encouraging others to get into the spirit of Christmas, Ridgeway Rise has decided to set up a Christmas display outside of their building, for families to come and take pictures in their huge Santa’s sleigh, which has been decorated with festive lights and inflatable Christmas decorations.
At the same time, they would like to give something back to the community and are asking visitors for donations to support the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the care homes activities department.
They will also run a social media competition for the best festive picture with our display with those involved in with a chance of winning a Christmas hamper from Waitrose and Partners along with MF Dance and Martial Arts vouchers.
Bella Balaci, General Manager of the Home said:
‘Our Team and the Residents at Ridgeway Rise care home refuse to accept that Christmas 2020 will not be celebrated in a special way. We wanted to give our community something back for supporting us throughout a very difficult year.
Last December we had a great Christmas Market, this year we need to cocoon our vulnerable environment but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some entertainment to mark this special time of the year’.
