Water Balloon Baseball

Great outdoor game for kids when the sun is shinning!

All you need is:

  • Cricket bat
  • Balloons filled with water
  • Plastic tub
  • Hosepipe

How to do it:

  • Get a cricket ball bat.
  • Fill a load of balloons with cold water.
  • Place them into a plactise tub
  • Then have a thrower and a batter and enjoy!
Chalk Obstacle Course

A little game that helps them learn literacy and numbers as well as being fun!

All you need is:

  • Chalk 
  • Patio

Method:

  • Write out an array of movements that animals would make in a sequence. Example; Jump like a bunny x 3, walk on your hands and feet like a monkey.
  • Give them a sequence to do and let them enjoy!
Sardines

Sardines

Are your kids a massive fan of go-hide-and-go-seek? They are bound to love this then!

How to play:

  • A person who has been tagged hides and everyone else looks for them.
  • Each player that finds the person tagged also known as it joins him or her in the hiding place.
  • As the players find the person tagged, one by one, they all crowd into the hiding place and end up packed together like sardines in a can. 
  • The last person to find the hiding place is the next one to be tagged it.
Red Light, Green Light

Red Light, Green Light

Looking for a fun outdoor game that doesn't involve mess, equipment or setting things up? This is ideal then!

How to play:

  • A person must be picked as the spotlight. That person then stands with their back towards the other players, who stand away from him.
  • The stoplight calls out green light, which lets the other players know they can now begin moving towards the person who is spotlight.
  •  The stoplight yells red light and turns around. If any player is caught moving when the stoplight turns around, that player is out.
  • The game is over if all the players are out before anyone reaches the stoplight or if someone tags the stoplight. If a player reaches the stoplight, that person gets to be the stoplight in the next game.
Kitchen Utensil Bubbles

Kitchen Utensil Bubbles

Go through a kitchen drawer and collect slotted spoons, fly swatters, spatulas, and anything else that has holes to make bubbles. 

All you need:

  • Kitchen equipment such as; spoons, spatulas etc.
  • Washing up liquid
  • Water
  • Big bucket

How to do it:

  • Make up a bubble solution with washing up liquid and water in a large bucket.
  • Gather as many utensils that will create the best bubbles. Make sure the utensils have little holes. 
  • Put them in the bubble solution you made up and see which person makes the best bubble.
Toy Obstacle Course

Toy Obstacle Course

It's important to get your little ones outside and in the fresh air but sometimes that can be a challenge, but with this fantastic game you won't have any issues!

All you need:

  • Hula hoops
  • Toy tunnel
  • Cones 
  • Pylons

What you need to do:

  • Get your kids to set up an obstacle course. You may need to step in to help make it a little more challenging for them!
  • Then set them a time on the clock and let them enjoy their way through all the fantastic obstacles.

Balloons offer a lot of entertainment and provide you with a selection of games!

All you need:

  • An array of balloons

How to do it:

  • Get some of the balloons you may have lying around from the last birthday party.
  • It's simple! Try going against your family for a little healthy competition. Try to beat eachothers records for how many hits it takes to keep the balloon up in the air for the longest amount of time! 
Playing with Water

Playing with Water

This activity goes back a long way, being a classic old childhood favourite! Having endless amounts of fun with water, mud and anything else your garden may have crawling around.

You will need:

  • Water
  • Jugs/Watering Cans
  • Grass, Plants & Mud
  • Pots, Pans & Spoons

How to do it:

  • Find some kitchen utensils you will certainly have laying around, pots, pans, any you don't mind being used outside.
  • Fill up plastic jugs or watering cans with water.
  • Get your kids to add grass and mud and mix that with the water.
  • Then it's time they can finally make up their own restaurant. Serving grass soup or mud pie!
