The Wyvern Theatre are famous for putting on a spectacular pantomime every single Christmas - and this year it's Aladdin, starring soap legend Adam Woodyatt in the role of evil Abanazar! The Wyvern aim to impress every year, and with the magnificent scenery, beautiful costumes, a lamp-full of laughter and an Aladdin’s cave of spectacular surprises, it certainly does impress and makes the perfect treat for the festive season and a wish come true for all the family!

Step into Winter Wonderland this Christmas at STEAM Museum. The first weekend of December will see the museum transformed to showcase 50+ market stalls, selling a huge range of beautiful, unique Christmas gifts perfect for loved ones.
As well as this, Santa will be be paying a visit to deliver storytime sessions to all the children. They will all enjoy a festive story and sing-a-long with the big man - what better way to get into the Christmas spirit?

Every year, DB Max hold their Christmas 10k race at Westonbirt House, held just 15 miles outside of Swindon. Taking place roughly a week before Christmas, it's the perfect way to burn those extra calories before we all go crazy with chocolates and turkey! There will plenty of festive celebrations once you've finished your race, including mulled wine and a mince pie treat.
This year, DB Max are also offering a traditional turkey meal after the race, open to both runners and non-runners, to celebrate everyone's race times and the beginning of the festive period!

The annual Old Town Christmas Light Switch On is a highlight in the festive calendar, and an event which hundreds of Swindonian's flock to to celebrate the welcoming of Christmas on Wood Street. Complete with music, beer tents, Santa's Grotto, Christmas food stalls, bars and much more, it's the perfect place to enjoy hours of fun with all the family.
The official light switch on will take place at 5pm, however there's plenty going on from 12pm onwards - so be sure to get there early to make the most of the festivities!

Come 21st November, Lydiard House will be transforming into a sparkling Winter Wonderland as a traditional family Christmas in the house will be recreated, with themed winter arrangements in every room. Come along and explore the festive-filled house for yourself - you might even pick up some Christmas decor ideas for your own house!

New for Swindon this Christmas, The Festival of Lights is a beautiful trail of light and magic for all ages, designed to guide families around the town centre.
The Festival of Lights starts on Saturday 17th November with the BIG LIGHT SWITCH ON in Wharf Green and continues with a variety of activities across the town centre including the light trail until 31st December.
The festive illuminated trail will have the whole family exploring the town centre, getting in the Christmas spirit and returning home with a massive smile on their faces!

The centre's new grotto promises delight at every turn; plant a magic bean in special soil and put it in the sprouting chamber while you tell Santa how good you’ve been this year.
By the time you’ve finished telling him what’s on your wish list and he’s given you a gift, your magic bean will have grown into a real mini Christmas tree, which you can then decorate to take home!
