TGt Meets... Mick O'Toole

In the build up to One Faith Punk festival, we caught up with Mick O'Toole; a five piece southern cider swilling folk punk band. Guaranteed to make any night go down a storm, be sure to catch them at their live show! Here's what they had to say about their music...

How would you describe your music?
British folk punk.
What can festival-goers expect from your live show?
Foot stomping, beer swilling, jigging and old school pogoing.
What are the main differences between playing festivals and regular gigs?
There isn’t a lot of difference when we play as we are very much a festival band, so whether it’s a smaller pub show, venue or festival we still get the crowd up on their feet tankard and having a good time.
Who have been your biggest musical influences?
We all come from different backgrounds of music but I think we can all say that Dropkick Murphy’s, Flogging Molly, Rancid, The Clash, Gogol Bordello and Frank Turner have played an important role in capturing our sound.
Are you going to be exploring much of the local area when you’re in Lechlade for the festival?
Being from Calne we know the area very well so we will be trying to keep our heads down and staying away from the all you can eats.
To survive a music festival, what are your three essentials you need in your luggage?
Toilet Roll
What’s next for the band?
We are off to Switzerland to play a bunch of shows then we will be up and down the country headlining festivals and supporting some great acts. we will also be recording a new EP and working on our Album.
If you could pick one highlight from your career so far, what would it be?
Meeting Lars was a massive highlight, the guy was so f***ing cool!
