They have a terrific variety of scales and gauges on display (please scroll down for layout details); you’ll find 26 model railways throughout the Museum.

Have fun following your imagination as you discover recreated picturesque and historic railway scenes - all expertly designed and built by enthusiasts and model railway groups who love to share their creations.

Experts will be at hand to answer your questions and offer modelling tips, whether your knowledge is basic or specialist.

There will also be a live steam traction engine display at the front of the museum, including the sounding of STEAM's own Swindon Works Replica Hooter* (on the hour, every hour).
