Snapped: Swindon Christmas Light Switch On 2013
inSwindon pulled out all of the stops to top last year's star studded switch on - and they certainly didn't disappoint! An assortment of weird, wacky and wonderful acts took to the stage to entertain hundreds of local residents gathered at Wharf Green. During the two hour long festive extravaganza; sporting heroes, pop stars and dancers came together to put on one almighty show, before Swindon's most celebrated resident did the honours and switched on the town centre lights. Up and coming BGT star Charlie-Anne kicked of the proceedings with a stunning rendition of last Christmas, before local double act Ethemia launched their campaign for Christmas #1. As always Colour the Atlas were on top form, performing a medley of chart toppers and original tunes. As the evening continued a broken legged, Josh Kumra hobbled onto the stage to perform hit single 'Don't Go'. Swindon Dance, who got the crowd moving with their high octane routines were shortly followed by some festive Bushtucker Trials with STFC players and the Swindon Wildcats. As expected, the crowd went into a frenzy when Jahmene Douglas (minus Nicole Scherzinger this year) appeared to push the big red button. Despite being on vocal rest, the Swindon-born star belted out several lines of 'Silent Night' before wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and starting the countdown.
