Round 1 Junior Karting Championship

Round 1 of the 2019 Autumn Junior Karting Championship took place on Sunday.

It was Leo Bell who lined up on pole position and he was joined on the front row by George Taylor. Jake Holley and Harrison Dunsden lined up on the second row, with Alexander Georganas and Brook Plank completing the A Final grid.

Leo made a great start and was able to convert pole into the lead, while George had a difficult first few laps and both Jake Holley and Harrison Dunsden were able to find a way past.

Jake Holley came under pressure from Harrison Dunsden and Leo took advantage of this to open up a big gap out in front and take the victory. Harrison Dunsden had a couple of attempts to try and find a way past Jake, but Jake was able to hold on to take 2nd place with Harrison Dunsden completing the podium in 3rd. George Taylor took 4th place after a great battle with Brook Plank, with Alexander Georganas taking 6th.

Spring Champion Billy Cockle had a difficult day, just missing out on the A Final, but he put in a great drive to win the B Final. It was not by any means easy though as Ryan Taylor pushed him the entire way, but was not able to find a way past.

Round 2 of the Championship takes place on Sunday 18th August.
