1/ Moshan Island Grill

Caribbean cooking at its best, Moshan Island Grill is in the heart of Old Town. This family run restaurant serves freshly prepared Caribbean cuisine cooked to order.

2/ Helen Brownings Chophouse

With a menu based around the produce from their organic farm in Bishopstone, the Chophouse is an excellent choice for locally sourced food offerings.

All meat on the menu is from the restaurant’s farm, Eastbrook, at Bishopstone, 8 miles away and organic since 1986.

The restaurant’s ethos is simple, fresh, nutritious and fun food. Do not be deceived by the name Chophouse; this restaurant offers a varied menu of vegetarian and vegan dishes alongside carnivore options.

3/ Mela – Contemporary Indian cuisine

Although under new management, Mela continues to retain its founding fundamental philosophies of premium contemporary Indian cuisine.

New Head Chef Ravi Yedhati, who previously honed his culinary skills at the nearby Palm in Marlborough, has developed a menu of innovative Indian cuisine from Indian-style tapas to the famous Hyderabadi Dum Biryani.

`4/ Smile Thai restaurant

A small, perfectly formed restaurant nestled on a corner of Eastcott Hill. This authentically Thai eaterie serves up a slice of Thailand in every dish it serves. The Smile Thai Café offers BYO alcohol at a corkage fee of £1 per person.

TGt recommends Green prawn curry with coconut rice.

5/ Sally Pussey Restaurant

Sally’s offers fresh, wholesome food made from the finest locally sourced ingredients. This restaurant is a modern pub specialising in traditional cooking situated off junction 16 of the M4. Portions are generous at this restaurant. Therefore, we welcome its offering of a small or large dish option.

Sally Pussey’s is a firm favourite with many locals, therefore, ensure you book in advance.

6/ Greek Olive

This family run eatery provides traditional, authentic Mediterranean cuisine in an inviting, friendly environment. As Swindon’s only Greek restaurant The Greek Olive is an excellent choice for diners seeking a different evening out.

TGt recommends: The Mix Grill, a selection of chicken, lamb, pork souvlaki, village sausage, served with tzatziki, pitta and salad, choice of rice or roasted potatoes or chips.

7/ Los Gatos

Los Gatos has been Swindon's only Spanish tapas bar since 2006. Founded from a love of Spanish food by novice restaurateurs. This once small restaurant has now grown both in size and strength as its owners honed its menu and the customer base expanded.

Los Gatos is an authentic Spanish experience, both in its food and ambience.

8/ Miller and Carter

A premium steakhouse, Miller and Carter is centrally located offering a fine dining experience with its expertly cooked 30-day aged steak in opulently decorated surroundings.

9/ Rio’s Brazilian

An authentic Brazilian Steakhouse, Rio’s Brazil Churrascaria follows the traditional rodizio (rotation) style service allowing you to enjoy a variety of cuts of meat from the skewer direct to your table at a fixed price, dispensing with the need for pre-ordering.

A salad bar, rice and pasta, is available buffet style to accompany your meat.
