Faringdon's Restaurant 56 Scoops Top Award at TSE South Awards
When you are told that your restaurant has been shortlisted for the Restaurant/Bistro of the Year category at the Tourism South East Beautiful South Awards you are naturally thrilled. However Executive Head Chef Andrew Scott and Restaurant 56 Head Chef, Nick Bennett, were over the moon when their restaurant was awarded gold.
Competing against the previous year's winner, The Vineyard in Newbury, The Terrace Restaurant in Beaulieu and the Cambium Restaurant in Brockenhurst, the chefs from Sudbury House faced tough competition.
"It was fantastic news that we had been recognised in such a prestigious competition," says Andrew Scott. "Knowing that we were competing against other 3 rosette kitchens, it was an honour to reach the final four. However when Restaurant 56 received the gold award, we were overjoyed. We put so much hard work into the food and service and we knew we were facing very stiff competition. As category finalists, we are now very excited at the prospect of competing in the Visit England Awards in 2018."
To celebrate their achievement, anyone booking a table at this impressive fine dining restaurant for a Wednesday or Thursday night until the end of January 2018, will receive a glass of bubbles to celebrate the restaurant's success. To find out more visit www.restaurant56.co.uk
