Business Administration Apprentice - Edmont Joinery Ltd

An exciting opportunity to work with people at various levels, office and site based, providing administrative support to a small team of health & safety professionals. You will be involved in the day to day running of existing management systems, with the opportunity to contribute to the development of the health & safety department.

Salary: Weekly wage £150.00

Hours: 7.5 hours per day 9am-5.30pm with one hour for lunch Total hours per week: 37.50


  • Manage all administration related to FORS, including licenses, health checks/eye tests, weekly vehicle inspection logs, driving complaints logs, accident reporting, driver training, vehicle TACOs and mileage trackers, driver/vehicle safety packs
  • Manage and maintain the Edmont training matrix, ensuring it is kept up to date and that all employees receive the appropriate training at the right time
  • Book health and safety training courses, liaising with employees and their managers
  • Manage the administration of the sub-contractor vetting procedure, sending and chasing replies to sub-contractor questionnaires and ensuring sub-contractors comply with our approach to managing and training their employees/workers in a fair and safe way
  • Chase sub-contractors for RAMS before they start on site
  • Assist with site set up folders, creating folders and signage when required
  • Assist with scanning and logging health and safety paperwork returned from site
  • Provide administration assistance with Edmont’s ISO accreditations

Company culture:

Edmont started as a family firm and still very much has this ethos, with many families working in the business.  It is a very friendly, informal culture and whilst it is too small to have defined career paths, it is an expanding business with scope for individuals to develop and grow their roles. It has a flat structure and there is no ‘them and us’ distinction between managers and employees.


There is an annual employee Christmas party and usually one or two other events throughout the year.
