Swindon 'Masterplan' Unveiled - have YOUR say

Forward Swindon have re-launched their highly anticipated ‘masterplan’ mapping out the long-term future of Swindon’s town centre - and they're inviting local residents to give their feedback on the plans.

What is the Swindon Town Centre Masterplan?

Forward Swindon is looking to link Old Town and the town centre with a ‘green spine’. The plan also demonstrates how to improve access between the commercial centre and the leisure hub that is set to be developed around the refurbished Oasis Leisure Centre.

Highlights from the plan include working with Swindon Travel Choices to extend the cycle routes in and across the town and  improving traffic circulation around the town centre by making Commercial Road a two way street.

Other developments included a new multi-purpose performing theatre and arts centre, numerous café developments and an art gallery.

Where can I find the plans?

• Exhibitions for the public to inspect the masterplan will be held at Swindon Central Library, from today to October 5
• Swindon North Library, Orbital Retail Park from October 6 to 12
• West Swindon Library & Link Centre from October 13 to 19

Find the plans online at www.swindonmasterplan.co.uk or at the exhibitions, and then either complete the online questionnaire or email.

You’ve can view the ‘masterplan’ and answer the online questionnaire or comment in person through to the 19^th of October 2012.
