SNAPPED: An Evening with GWR Locomotive No. 2818

On Tuesday evening (16th October), we were invited to an evening of GWR railway celebration as STEAM officially welcomed the latest addition to their award-winning collection! Take a look through our gallery from the event below...

GWR Locomotive No. 2818 was been gifted to STEAM Museum by the National Railway Museum. The evening was presented by BBC presenter, Will Glennon.

The evening of celebration took place from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, and included a drinks reception, presentations from the National Railway Museum, Great Western Railway and Swindon Borough Council, talks and tours of 2818 from the locomotive's footplate, how STEAM achieved the monster loco move, the Museum’s latest exhibitions, the opportunity to meet the staff and volunteers who manage the Museum, a buffet and a GWR 2818 souvenir.
