About: November 1st will mark the official opening of this year's Royal Wootton Bassett Field of Remembrance. The field pays tribute to all of the brave servicemen and women who have lost their lives serving and protecting their country throughout the wars of old and more recent.
The remembrance field is situated in the Walled Garden in the ground of Lydiard House and will be open from 9.00am until 4.00pm. The field will close on Thursday 21st November.
About: To honour the brave servicemen and women who have fought to protect their country throughout the ages, St Augustine’s Church will be holding a remembrance service open to all on Sunday 10th November. The service will start at 10.45.
About: Swindon’s 2019 Remembrance Parade will congregate in the Iceland car park ready to march at 2.00pm. The Armistice Day parade will then march up to the War Memorial where wreaths will be laid to pay remembrance to those who have lost their lives in war. This will then be followed by the traditional sounding of the last post and a two-minute silence.
Devizes Market Square - 225 Anniversary for all RWY Old Comrades - 10th November 2019
About: 2019 marks the 225th Anniversary of the formation of the Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry. To mark this historic milestone, Devizes will be holding a special parade through the town on Remembrance Sunday. Both RWY Squadrons will march behind the Guidon as respects are paid to have lost their lives serving their country. Following the parade there will be drinks and lunch in the Townhall.
About: Royal Wootton Bassett’s branch of the Royal British Legion will hold a service at the Town’s war memorial at 11.00am on Monday 11th November. Everyone is welcome to attend.
