NEW COLLEGE STUDENT GOVERNORS ANNOUNCED

Two new Student Governors at New College have been elected. Adrianna Wolczuk and Harper Linton will be taking on these roles for the year ahead.

Adrianna Wolczuk was already a New College Executive and leader of the Charity and Fundraising Taskforce. She explained that these opportunities helped her to develop a range of skills, such as communication and confidence, which she will be able to carry into the Governor role.

Adrianna said: “I am very pleased to be Student Governor and I will not let this opportunity go to waste. I hope to strengthen the communication between the Senior Leadership Team and students in the College. It is important that students know they are being listened to whether it's a change they would like to see or feedback that they give.”

Harper Linton, now a third year student at New College, said they developed leadership and management skills while working on the Environmental Taskforce Executive. They said they believe that New College is there to help students get ready for the next step in life, whether that is employment, an Apprenticeship or Higher education.

Harper said: “This year I'm glad that I have become a Student Governor, here at New College Swindon. It's my third and final year of college and I hope to make a positive impact before I leave. My first aim is to help make New College more environmentally friendly. I would also like to create more opportunities for College students, such as starting up a student blog and also continue to make New College more LGBT+ inclusive.”
