David Cameron Endorses Loyalty Card Scheme
British Prime Minister David Cameron has endorsed the My Loyalty Card scheme stating that it will “re-invigorate local high streets.”
Mr. Cameron stated that, “this type of scheme gives high streets a valuable tool to help consumers regain confidence in their local shops.”
Since its launch on 30th June 2012, My Swindon Loyalty Card has welcomed over 3,000 members, 104 offers and 80 participating businesses.
The Loyalty Card is an opportunity for the public and customers of Swindon to take advantage of the array of businesses within the town centre. It gives the members a chance to save money in some of their favourite shops, and to encourage them to try other businesses that they would not normally use.
David Cameron said “it is terrific to see retailers working together to bring forward new and innovative ideas that can help re-invigorate their local high streets.
“This type of scheme gives high streets a valuable tool to help consumers regain confidence in their local shops and help ensure the future of their town centre stores.”
The Loyalty Card is also an opportunity for retailers and businesses to take advantage of the scheme in gaining new customers with their offers, resulting in boosting their own success.
Stuart Hopkins, Director of My Loyalty Card Ltd. commented “many of the retailers on board the Loyalty Card scheme are independent, stocking fresh local produce or unique merchandise.” The discount scheme allows businesses to draw new customers that wouldn’t normally visit their stores, attracting footfall into the town centre and encouraging shoppers to physically come into town.
