Robert Buckland Opens New Office for Company Fundamental to Swindon’s Economy

Last Friday, Robert Buckland QC MP, attended one of Swindon’s fastest growing companies, Fundamentals Ltd, to open their new offices and to give a speech, in which he described the company as ‘vital to Swindon’s economy.’

Based at Hillmead’s Enterprise Park, Fundamentals is, in a nutshell, helping to keep the lights on! The Electrical Power Engineering Company is dedicated to bringing modern voltage-control solutions to electrical power grids in the UK and worldwide. Furthermore, Fundamentals is the only electrical engineering company in the UK to offer an end-to-end service, from consultancy, design and installation through to maintenance and ongoing support for the health and performance of the grid.

The family-owned independent British company, headed up by Dr Jon Hiscock, quickly outgrew their former office, also in Hillmead, and moved across the road to a bigger facility to house their rapid growth.

With more than 22-years of extensive sector experience in the energy sector, Fundamentals has developed an unrivalled reputation for engineering excellence. With a focus on innovation, quality engineering and delivery to its customers, the company is undergoing impressive growth rates and has set some ambitious targets for the future. By 2020 Fundamentals plans to triple its size which is great news for Swindon and its economy.

“We have created 40 jobs since moving to Swindon in 2012 and expect to add up to another 70 by 2020. Plus, we’re always on the lookout for new apprentices with an interest in an engineering career.”
