November Talk with Tina Dolman

It's November and the month is drawing to a close. What has the last few weeks brough for you and your business? Today we're talking to Christina Dolman, Employability Account Manager, of Go-train RESTART. This organisation is part of the UK Government’s plan to provide individuals who have found themselves hit by the pandemic/or any other reason and have been unemployed for 12 – 18 months.
The team are located in Swindon, Chippenham, Trowbridge and Devizes. Their support includes 1:1, access to accredited training and wrap around support to overcome any potential barriers into work.

What’s your business highlight for November 2021?
Since 1/11/2021 to 17/11/2021 by working with local businesses and building good relationships, networking and upskilling we have placed 27 participants into work changing their lives in time for Christmas.

And what about a personal highlight this month?
On 4th November a participant attended our office signed up onto our scheme. She had not worked for eight years,  she had recently completed a customer service course with us but believed she had no hope of finding work. I got in touch with a local company I am working closely with, explained about our candidate arranged an interview and she started work on 11/11/2021.

The participant's feed back was  "Thank you, Tina the employment account manager  and Jack the trainer at Go-Train for your professional guidance to employment through advice and teaching,  I cannot fully take it in that in a short time I am now in work.

I would also like to thank Rose, my employment advisor from Go-Train for their support being part of my journey back into employment in a short time, this is life changing." 

You cannot beat a highlight like that!

Did you do anything this month for charity or for a community or volunteer project?
I am a member of Go-train mental health team and male colleagues at work are not shaving this month to raise funds and awareness of testicular and prostate cancer.

Have you got any events planned for November or December you’d like to shout about?
Our CSCS training course in Trowbridge Suite 2C, Bryer Ash Business Park, Bradford Road, Trowbridge, BA14 8HE starts on 6th December 2021 10 working days Mon – Fri 9.30am – 4.30pm.

This includes our Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in a Construction Environment Level 1 Award in Understanding Employment, Business and Enterprise Level 1 Award in Personal Health and Well-being Entry Level 3 Certificate in Progression. 

You will be coached in how to take and pass the online CSCS test in centre.
