TIPS FOR SUCCESS IN 2022!

January is speeding by and it's only a week until the month turns into February. Sharing some of his thoughts about business in the new year is Jan P. de Jonge, who is the founder and business psychologist at Wiltshire-based People Business Psychology Ltd. Jan works with companies nationwide supporting them with business and people research, recruitment to senior teams, promotion and staff retention.

What are your top PR tips for 2022? 
Be clear, be consistent and be convincing.

And your top financial tips?
Don’t overspend however don’t be afraid to invest, and focus on the longer-term goal.

Who are the top business buddies in your corner for 2022? 
All my connections, acquaintances and friends in the business community I see as buddies. I’m chuffed with my buddies Denise O’Leary and Alison Edgar receiving Royal Recognition recently - even if I’m not the greatest supporter of any monarchy.

What are your ethics this year?
Integrity is key, as well as being as non-judgemental as possible, whilst at the same ‘sticking up’ for what you believe in.   

What are the attributes you are looking for in staff/suppliers in 2022?
Kindness, a sense of urgency and strong work ethics. 

What will you be investing in this year? 
We’re investing a lot of time in developing our own IP in the field of talent assessment and development, and finding the right providers to bring that to life with IT software.

What will you be doing differently in 2022? 
We are looking to create an online easily accessible app service that is scalable, user-friendly and gives information to people who want to improve their personal skills and self-insight on a range of psychological topics. 

More than before, we’re aware of the need to operate with the environment firmly in mind, reducing the harm we inflict on it every day.

What are you doing for charity or community this year?
Besides ongoing support to the charity Business against Poverty, we are training hard to do the Bath half marathon run now set to be held in May. 

We are running for Send a Cow, a charity also based, coincidentally, around Bath. Look them up, or better: come join in the run!

Do you have any special offers for January or February you’d like to mention? 
As part of our IP development, we are building a new online tool that measures how people provide leadership to others. We’re doing this with input from professors at several universities to help with psychometric validation of the tool.
