Inner Flame Celebrate 6th Birthday With Networking Event
One of the most well-respected charities in Swindon, Inner Flame, is to hold a huge networking event in the town, in association with Business Scene to celebrate their 6th anniversary.
The event will take place at the National Self Build and Renovation Centre (NSBRC) in Swindon on Thursday 25 September from 6pm.
Inner Flame will showcase their work within the community, showing how they change young people’s lives for the better.
British explorer and adventurer, David Hempleman-Adams, will also speak at the event, telling his inspirational stories. More than a decade ago, David set up Cold Climate Expeditions, enabling people from all walks of life to visit and experience some of the world's most awe inspiring and desolate environments.
There's still almost a million unemployed 16-24 year olds, and more than a million who are “under-employed” (which includes zero-hours contracts).
In Swindon alone over 1,000 young people are still struggling to find work. Everyone can all play a part in helping young people develop their potential, via training, mentoring, work experience, jobs and apprenticeships.
Inner Flame has been helped local young people to develop their potential for 6 years, through training, coaching and challenging experiences.
David Hempleman-Adams will share his experience in challenging the human spirit (through his many adventurous expeditions), and in developing young people (having founded and grown the Youth Adventure Trust over more than 20 years).
“I am delighted to be supporting Inner Flame,” said David. “We share a belief in the potential of young people, and in the power of challenging experiences to help them build confidence and self-belief.”
The event will see more than 100 local business people networking while enjoying wine and canapés. All proceeds from tickets, raffle and the auction will go towards supporting Inner Flame, who'll be launching a new business sponsorship programme on the night.
Inner Flame's founder, David Wreathall said: “Inner Flame has received a lot of support from the local business community over the last six years.
“On the night, we want to celebrate that and to build on it by launching a formal business sponsorship programme to enable us to help more young people.
“This will be our biggest event of 2014, and we are looking forward to meeting old friends and new.”
