How to Run a ‘Hassle Free’ Business Meeting

Selecting a location for you meeting may depend on a number of factors including the kind of meeting you’re hosting, the size of the group, the time of day, and whether or not you need to bring some props along. However, before you decide it is important to ask yourself.

• How convenient is it to get to the location and is car parking free and available?
• Is the space you’ve chosen large enough? There’s nothing worse than being crammed awkwardly around a table meant for 5 when 10 people have turned up. For small meetings a more intimate space may suit your needs.

• Have you tested the technology in the room? According to Murphy’s Law, something is bound to go wrong at the least opportune moment. Try and pre-empt this if you can by checking all your equipment, arriving early on the day or doing a test-run beforehand.

Bonus tip: Try to have the meeting somewhere you’re familiar with and can be in control of the elements. For example, if you’re holding an important client meeting and anticipate that things might get a little awkward, you definitely want to feel comfortable in your surroundings.
