Your Total Guide To Business

Bowman House (Business Sponsor)

Hello 2021 & Goodbye 2020!

By Paul Eagles of Midwinter Web Design who has been designing, creating, maintaining and updating websites for business in Swindon, Wiltshire and beyond for almost 20 years. Paul's ethos is to offer excellent customer service, to listen to his customers' needs and ensure their websites are up to date and safe.

As the year starts to turn – how are you feeling about 2021?

Very positive for 2021, 2020 was a difficult year for most businesses. It has made me realise how strong a business we have and how well positioned we are to support our clients in the New Year.

What are your business goals for the coming year?

To continue to train and develop so we can always offer our clients the best solutions and experience, when they engage with us to update or to develop a new website.

Will you be introducing any new products or services?

The web development environment is always changing and we strive to ensure we keep up to date with the best ways to secure and protect our clients website. To enhance peoples websites we are using services like Amazon S3 to store client data and we will offer services like this to customers to help keep their website’s running as efficiently as possible.

Will you be looking to employ any new staff during the new year?

If the year starts off well and confidence returns to the market, we will be looking to expand the team later in the year.

Will you be looking for any new local suppliers in 2021?

We always try and purchase locally and are really happy with the local companies we partner with. If a need arises we will always try and purchased from and support businesses with our community.

Are you looking to invest in yourself as a business owner or company director in 2021 in any way?

We constantly invest in training and learning new skills and we will continue to do this.

Looking back across 2020 – name any highlights for you and your business?

Seeing how we continued to support our local business partners in these very challenging times.

Realising what a great team of people and associates we have in the business.

Looking back across 2020 – were there any lowlights?

I think a lot of people struggled in the lockdowns and working remotely, I know this was difficult for a lot of people I talked to. Therefore, I made sure always to have a general chat and show interest about how people were managing working from home, being understanding and trying to make people feel positive.

Who, in your business community – have been the shining stars of 2020?

Any business which has survived this pandemic so far and is continuing to contribute to the local economy.

My friends and colleagues at BusinessWise, my regular business referral group who have had my back.

Those business owners who have gone the extra mile to volunteer and support those in our community who are, or who have been, shielding or who are struggling with loneliness or finances.

And finally:

I would like to wish everybody a safe, happy and prosperous 2021 along with a great thank you to all the businesses that continue to support us year on year.
