Advent Calendar Challenge Taken on by Accountancy Practice
THE TEAM at accountancy firm Haines Watts Swindon are supporting a national Advent calendar challenge to raise money for 24 separate charities.
The #AdventofChange movement was created by the founder Kristina Salceanu who came up with the idea of creating an advent calendar of giving during the festive season.
She’s been backed by names including Sir Richard Branson, Laurence Dallaglio OBE, Chris Evans and Virginia McKenna.
For each window opened £1 goes to each day’s nominated charity – and those organisations are UK based and global, including:
- BornFree
- Winston’s Wish
- Marine Conservation Society
- Crisis
- The Refugee Council
- Blue Cross
- ABF The Soldiers’ Charity
Nationally Haines Watts has embraced the challenge and are encouraging all of their local teams to purchase the calendars and spread the word in their own communities.
Mike Lloyd, managing partner of Haines Watts, Swindon said: “We’re proud to be supporting this initiative which supports a range of UK and global charities. To be able to give back in this small way to so many organisations doing important work for people, animals, the environment is a worthwhile thing to do especially at this time of year.
“The calendars take five days to arrive so it’s best to order before Sunday November 25.”
The calendars cost £27.95 and £24 goes to the chosen charities, which will be revealed each day during December. The remaining money pays to maintain the not-for-profit organisation #AdventofChange. Calendars can be purchased using the code HW2018 at https://www.adventofchange.com
