PREVIEW: Walsall vs Swindon Town

Swindon Town are unbeaten in four games, drawing their last two, but it is pretty much win-or-bust time now for the relegation-threatened Robins.

Despite the aforementioned run of four games without defeat (two wins, two draws), Swindon still occupy 22nd in the League One table and, with three games of the season remaining, they are two points away from a position of safety.

Swindon travel to a Walsall side on Bank Holiday Monday that are, technically 'not playing for anything', as they are not in danger of relegation, nor have hopes of a play-off charge, but the same could have been said of MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon, who both got draws at the County Ground.

Town have only conceded one goal in their last four games, but by the same token they have only managed to find the back of the net on three occasions, with all of those strikes coming in the 82nd minute or later.

Captain Nathan Thompson is having his fitness assessed after he did not even make the 18-man squad for the hosting of AFC Wimbledon while Johnny Goddard is expected to be ok, despite having to play with a bandage after a boot to the face in the first half.

Goddard was subbed early on in the second period, but that was mainly due to precaution and protection, rather than danger, according to Town head coach Luke Williams.

Walsall look to be without goalkeeper Neil Etheridge, who missed the 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury on Good Friday, and looks to be out for the rest of the season.
